COTABATO CITY| Member of the Parliament (MP) Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., actively partake in a pivotal committee meeting of the Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (CAFAR) earlier today, August 23, 2023, at the BTA Plenary Session Hall, SKCC.

Presented and discussed in the said meeting is the revised BTA Bill No. 39 or An Act Establishing the Bangsamoro Agriculture and Fisheries Training Institute (BAFTI) and Providing Funds Therefor, introduced by the Government of the Day, which aims to pave the way for the establishment of a specialized office that will mainly focus on providing comprehensive and specialized training to capacitate farmers and fisherfolks across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

The revised bill is a culmination of meticulous efforts and a comprehensive approach to legislation. It has been informed by a wealth of insights gathered from a series of committee meetings, a substantive committee hearing, and two extensive committee public consultations. Notably, these consultations spanned across diverse locales in Lanao del Sur for Mainland Provinces and Zamboanga City for Island Provinces, which signifies a commitment to inclusivity and a holistic representation of the region’s needs and aspirations.
