READ| The Office of the Member of Parliament (MP) Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., through its Medical Outreach Program allocation implemented by the Ministry of Health in partnership with private hospitals in Cotabato City namely; Notre Dame Hospital and Siena College of Cotabato, Inc., Bangsamoro Doctors Hospital, United Doctors Hospital of Cotabato, Inc., and Cotabato Puericulture Center and General Hospital Foundation, Inc., has successfully conducted the turned-over ceremony yesterday, February 2, 2024, in Cotabato City.
The said Medical Outreach Program “Hospital Assistance” aims to make a substantial impact on healthcare accessibility within the region and to ease the burden of the Bangsamoro residents who are admitted to the said private hospitals.
“The idea of partnering with a hospital started when my father was hospitalized. I saw how busy the regional hospital was and my father had to wait in the emergency room for almost half a day for him to be admitted. So, I asked around, and they told me that almost all our communities seek medical assistance. Then I thought, if I have a chance to help, maybe I will consider partnering with a private hospital to help alleviate the burden. If people hear that a private hospital offers similar services, maybe some from our communities would proceed to the private hospital.” MP Yacob said.
“I am very emotional to see you all here, and we share the same vision as what our Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ibrahim always tells us to make the government closer to the community.” He added.
Present during the ceremony are MP Yacob himself, Ms. Tricia Pendong, MOP Focal Person from the Ministry of Health, a representative from NDH Sr. Fenny S. Tamayo, BDH Owner/Medical Director, Dr. Meriam P. Kanakan, Cotabato Puericulture President/Medical Director, Dr. Emilio S. Caoagdan, and UDH Representative, Maleja Bagundang.
Media outlets personalities were also invited to witness the said ceremony.
