Educational Assistance for the Marginalized Students

The Member of the Parliament (MP) Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D. firmly adheres to the idealism that the Youth is the hope of the nation. In connection with this, The Office of MP Yacob extends financial assistance to selected marginalized students in BARMM to help them with their basic needs in the year 2021.

The selected students are from Cotabato State University, Mindanao State University-Maguindanao, and Jami’at Cotabato and Institute of Technology taking up courses like Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Bachelor of Science in Fisheries, AB Islamic Studies, Shari’ah, Da’wah, Tarbiyyah and BSEd Major in English. The students undergo a selection process provided by the office where thirty five of them are being selected and will receive an amount of ₱2,000 monthly.

Aside from the financial assistance, the students are also provided with Parliamentary Procedures Training, Values Transformation Training, and Study Circle  and engaged in Community Visitation to be exposed to the communities.

This initiative is among the priorities of MPMSY in response to the needs of the Bangsamoro youth within BARMM territory, especially during the global pandemic.
