MAGUINDANAO – The Legislative Coordinators of Office of Member of the Parliament (MP) Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D. assisted in the meeting conducted by the Office In-Charge Municipal MAFAR Officer Engr. Rehan A. Ali on coordinating and strengthening the relationship of individual farmers and cooperatives together with the Irrigated Area (IA) President MAFAIC President and National Irrigated Association Kabulnan River Irrigation System (NIA KRIS) held at the Sangguniang bayan hall of Datu Unsay on April 11, 2022, this province.
NIA KRIS Officers are serving the Bangsamoro farmers to ensure the water supplies and program access to Irrigated areas with the support of the MAFAR BARMM program. The federation was the group of IA in Datu Unsay consisting of MAADEN IA, AL AYAT IA, and MANISAN IA the rest is from another Municipality.
The meeting aims to determine the farmers who registered in Irrigated areas, planting upland rice, and gather issues and concerns of different Bangsamoro farmers to unite as one.
Municipal Legislative coordinator (MLC) in coordination with MAFAR officers trying to fulfill what is mandated to them as public servants. “Let’s us help together to promote moral governance in our Bangsamoro Region,” Datu Macky Ampatuan MAFAIC PRESIDENT said, in response, said by the Farmer’s leader, “We are willing to cooperate to where is the scope of IA federations in our respected area.’’
Moreover, the Office of MP Yacob’s continuous effort to hasten its proposed bill on IRRIGATION SYSTEM to deliberate in the plenary session to become law, MP Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D. believes that Irrigation remains to be a key factor in the agricultural and rice production.
With the establishment of a clear structure for the irrigation concerns both for nationally and BARMM-funded programs and projects, the Bangsamoro Government would be able to address the irrigation gaps and it would be able to work directly on irrigation system development in the autonomous region. MAFAR BARMM strengthening the partnership with NIA KRIS to serve the Bangsamoro people.
