Manila, Philippines–The Bangsamoro Government, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Department of Finance (DOF), and National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) sealed their commitment through the historical signing of the Memorandum of Agreement on the Establishment of the Shari’ah Supervisory Board (SSB) in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

The creation of the SSB is in line with the Republic Act 11054 or the Organic Law for the BARMM’s provision of encouraging the promotion and development of Islamic Banking and Finance in the autonomous region.

Founding agencies are signified by BSP Governor Benjamin E. Diokno, BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim as represented by MAFAR Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, DOF Undersecretary Bayani H. Agabin, and NCMF OIC Yusoph J. Mando.
